Based on animal model
Nordic Proof conducts preclinical studies for sponsors for initial, small scale clinical studies to provide data showing that a device, technology, method or drug is reasonably safe. The objective of preclinical trials is to provide a “proof-of-concept” or “proof-of-principle” of an invention.
Preclinical studies are made in in-vitro and in animal models. Depending on the proposed device, studies may involve single or repeated prospective experiments to explore the feasibility, safety and robustness of a new technology.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to the design of preclinical studies. Rather, the preclinical studies must be tailored to the specific investigational product and the proposed clinical trials. Nordic Proof offers acute preclinical studies only.
