IT-testing (integration)

Evaluation of standalone software interoperability with other software infrastructure.

What it is

System integration testing involves evaluating a system’s ability to communicate in an agreed manner with other surrounding systems. This is done by investigating the context in which the system will work and how the system will communicate and interact with the environment. The testing can be performed against predefined requirements, interoperability standards or other sources of information.

Nordic Proof´s partners offers system integration testing as a good tool when introducing a system in a context where multiple systems interact with each other.
Prior to a test project, together with the customer, a thorough review of all conditions is made, resulting in a relevant test strategy and test plan specific to the project.

Expected outcome

The purpose of integration testing is to provide information about the system’s interoperability capabilities and to verify that the requirements for the system are met and specifically the ability to properly interact with the environment. The result of a test project will provide decision support for those affected by the quality of the system.

Requirements

Access to the system and interoperable systems to be tested is necessary. Desirably, there is a list of requirements, purpose, description of the standards relevant to the specific case, description of the operating environment in which the application is to be used and a description of the technical environment.
